Calgary Silver Linings Foundation (CSLF)’s vision is “To bridge gaps in accessibility and care of eating disorders in Alberta.” The CSLF was established in June 2014 to work collaboratively to create a world-class residential eating disorder treatment center in Alberta, the only one of its kind. The CSLF is actively searching for an Executive Director to support its growth, including our plan to open our first physical location in early 2019.

We are looking for an exceptional leader and communicator with a passion for making a difference in the community. As an entrepreneurial, motivated and experienced individual, you have the skills, passion and vision to build on the existing strategic plan of the board and significantly contribute to CSLF’s goals.  Reporting to the Board of Directors, this position will require a commitment of 32 hours per week or more depending on the candidate.

The key responsibilities will include:

  • leadership of the organization
  • operational planning and management - day-to-day operations
  • financial planning and management - fundraising, budgeting, etc
  • community relations and advocacy - developing and leading CSLF’s participation in Eating Disorder Awareness Week (EDAW), developing and maintaining good working relationships and collaborating with community partners and stakeholders
  • risk management

The ideal candidate will have a university degree in business administration or public relations or not-for-profit management and 5 or more years of senior non-for-profit management experience (or a comparable combination of education and experience). Project management experience as well as strong organizational abilities, including planning, program development and building partnerships with community agents and government, are required. Familiarity with eating disorders, mental health, and/or healthcare as well as demonstrated competence in working with boards would be assets.

The working conditions are flexible (32 to 40 hours per week) but additionally will require availability to work occasional evening, weekend, and overtime hours to accommodate activities such as Board meetings and representing the organization at public events.
